Why You Should Attend Church…Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

Hopecityuc   -

Late nights, hectic schedules, and even our mental health can cause us to feel like attending church is just an added task to our list. You want to make it but things seem to fall apart right when you’re ready to go on Sunday morning. It’s enough to discourage you to the point where you start telling yourself, “I just don’t feel like it.”

Worship isn’t dependent on how you feel, it’s dependent on who HE is. – Trent Cory

The times where you don’t feel like going are the times when you need it the most. These are the times where you should be heavily leaning on the name of Jesus and who He is.

Here’s why you need to attend church, even when you don’t feel like it.

Church gives you the power of community

For most of us, we spend a lot of time isolated. We work remotely or we may have ailments that keep us homebound. Social connection is essential to our survival as humans and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to make those connections in a digital world.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”-Matthew 18:20

Thankfully, we have so many options when it comes to attending church. You can keep it traditional and attend in person or attend online wherever you are.

Church can give you rest

Life is a lot to handle sometimes. We’re working more than ever and, if you have a family, it’s hard to make it through each day without feeling overworked or overwhelmed. But that’s the thing about church. You get to leave all those thoughts and  all of your day-to-day responsibilities at the door.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. –Matthew 11:28

Here at Hope City United, we put a ton of work into making sure we have what you need. For our families, we have children’s ministries, City Kids and Tiny Town where the kids can have fun while you worship… in peace 🙂

Church is here for your benefit

We are all struggling with something in life and it’s so easy to shrink in our shame, guilt, or embarrassment. Church is where we come to find stable ground to learn, pray, repent, and rejoice. It’s where we come to grow in God’s Kingdom.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. –Act 2:42

No matter where you are in life, you can always join us. You don’t have to go through your toughest moments alone. We are always here for you and to help you. Plan your visit to Hope City United to see your life radically transformed and made alive in Christ!
